These webinars have the practical value of responding to the training needs expressed by SAR scholars, who participated in the questionnaire 'Evaluation of the protection experience in Italy' launched in 2023 by the Hosting and Training Working Group of the SAR Italy network and distributed among a group of scholars hosted at Italian universities and research centres as part of projects aimed at welcoming scholars from at-risk contexts.

The three sessions are specifically addressed to at-risk scholars who are already in Italy, or who are considering applying for an academic/research position, or are about to arrive to take a position in Italy. The topics range from Italian legislation on visas, family visas, and residence permits, to types of contracts, social and academic inclusion, and funding and career opportunities within and outside the academic context. The discussion of the various topics included in the programme will be followed by Q&A sessions, during which participants will be welcome and encouraged to contribute to the discussion.

Scholars can register for one or more webinars. The registration form requires the minimum information necessary to access the link; however, the list of participants will not be visible to them. Only those who wish to ask questions or share their experiences may request to speak publicly.
