Call for papers premio "Roberto Sorrentino"

Young Scientist Best Paper Award
announced by the URSI Italian National Committee

The 2022 Annual Meeting of the URSI Italian National Committee (http://www.ursi.cnr.it/index.html) will be held in Catania, on September 20-21, 2022 and it will be co-located with the 24th Riunione Nazionale di Elettromagnetismo (Italian National Meeting on Electromagnetics – RiNEm) (http://rinem2022.unict.it/).

A Best Paper Award, named after Prof. Roberto Sorrentino, is announced by the URSI Italian National Committee for Young Scientists researching on topics belonging to all the URSI Scientific Commissions.

To qualify for the Award, the Young Scientist (YS) applicant:

  • must be less than 35 years old on September 21st, 2022;
  • should submit a 3-4 pages paper to the Catania 2022 Meeting of the URSI Italian National Committee, of which she or he is the principal author.

The paper template can be downloaded at http://www.ursi.cnr.it/Meetings.html. All YS applicants must send their paper, together with their CVs and a list of publications in PDF format to:

by the following deadline: June 30th, 2022. An acknowledgement will be issued.

The Italian URSI Young Scientist Program Committee will examine all the applications and select three finalists. The YSP Committee will notify all the YS applicants of the review results by e-mail. Within 10 days from the notification, every finalist must confirm that she/he will attend the meeting. The list of the finalists will be announced on the Italian URSI website (http://www.ursi.cnr.it/index.html).

The oral presentations of the three finalists are scheduled in the afternoon of September 20th, 2022 and will be evaluated by the Italian URSI YSP Committee. All the finalists will receive an Honorary Mention and the winner will be awarded with a 500 € prize during the banquet of RiNEm 2022 held on the evening of the same day.

All applicants will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers for review and possible publication in the URSI Radio Science Bulletin.
