[Fisica CT] [Events] Fwd: XIII International Geant4 school (fwd)

Reminder: Registration for the XIII International Geant4 School closes soon!

The school will take place from October 7th to 10th, 2025, in Catania, Italy, at the INFN - Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS).

This year's edition will feature a special focus on medical physics applications and Geant4-DNA, offering participants a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of Monte Carlo simulations applied to radiotherapy, imaging, and biological damage modelling at both macroscopic and molecular scales.

The school will combine theoretical lectures and hands-on practical sessions, led by internationally recognized experts, including core developers of Geant4 and Geant4-DNA. Topics will include particle-matter interactions, physics lists, geometry construction, scoring systems, chemical reactions, biological damage prediction, and more. The program is designed to gradually guide participants from the basic usage of Geant4 to specific applications of the Geant4 and Geant4-DNA simulation toolkit.

The event is particularly suited for Ph.D. students, early-career researchers, and medical physicists working in the fields of radiation physics, nuclear medicine, and radiobiology. A maximum of 45 participants will be admitted to ensure high-quality interaction and mentoring.

Up to 5 Master's students will still be admitted free of charge (merit-based). For all others, the participation fee is EUR 350. The fee includes access to all lectures, hands-on sessions, and educational materials, as well as coffee breaks, lunches, a social dinner, and a social event.

Please note: the registration deadline is approaching — September 21st, 2025!

If you haven’t registered yet, we encourage you to do so now to secure your place.
