The advent of light-propelled microrobots represents cutting-edge research with a variety of applications in fields ranging from medicine to environmental remediation. This presentation explores the design, operation, and potential of these tiny machines, focusing on light-driven ones that navigate and perform tasks by converting light energy into mechanical motion. Utilizing materials like light-responsive micro- and nanoparticles, these robots demonstrate remarkable capabilities in precise control and movement at the microscale. Key applications include environmental monitoring, enabling access to previously unreachable areas for contamination detection and cleanup.
